Whiskey Ranch’s whiskey and pecan old fashion is seriously satisfying

Since its small batch debut in 2012 from a historic brick building turned distillery in south Fort Worth, TX Blended Whiskey has emerged as a respected player amongst some of the country’s best craft whiskeys.

Now there’ll be more to share thanks to Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co.’s expansive new digs in southeast Fort Worth.

Dubbed Whiskey Ranch, the new distillery – with its multiple buildings, event facilities and bottling and barrel-aging barns – is located on the former site of Glen Garden Golf and Country Club and will open this fall to the public. (The golf course is still there and will be used for private events.)

An on-site tavern will serve a lineup of whiskey cocktails, including the Pecan Old Fashion featured here.

Try the sweet sipper as an alternative to pecan pie at Thanksgiving and toast to a festive holiday season.

 

Pecan Old Fashion

Serves 1

  • 2 ounces TX Blended Whiskey
  • 1/2 ounce molasses vanilla syrup
  • 3 dashes chicory and pecan bitters

Combine whiskey, syrup and bitters in a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a toasted pecan or orange peel, if desired.
