Fashion designer Elaine Turner brings her posh feminine style to The Shops at Clearfork. The Houston native often came to Fort Worth as a child to visit family and grew to love the city, so she’s delighted to open her company’s eighth Texas store here.
The University of Texas graduate’s fashions are joyful, reflecting Southern charm while celebrating individual personality and moxie. The Fall 2017 collection, inspired by London’s mix of civility and irreverence, contains an air of contradiction — feminine designs highlighted with bright custom embroidery and bold prints on very wearable pieces (especially lightweight wraps perfect for Texas weather).
Fun accessories include handbags in snakeskin or fringe, tasseled jewelry, comfy chic shoes and even faux fur stoles. “In today’s world, there is so much pressure to define and edit yourself to a ‘T.’ I believe our identities cannot be defined by one particular style. We grow, evolve and change. We have different moods for different days,” says Turner, company founder and creative director. The new store at 5254 Monahans Ave. joins the locations at Southlake Town Square and Plano’s Shops at Legacy as the third in North Texas. 817-349-0696, www.elaineturner.com.
